Reputation Announces Enhanced Reputation Score Module for 2026, Solidifying Commitment to Market Accuracy
Reputation, the leading provider of online reputation management services, today announced a significant, proactive enhancement and recalibration of its proprietary Reputation Score module, effective January 1, 2026. This strategic update is the result of continuous, in-depth market analysis and reflects Reputation’s unwavering commitment to providing the most accurate, relevant, and valuable key performance indicator (KPI) for its clients’ businesses.
The scheduled recalibration ensures the Reputation Score remains a state-of-the-art measure of online reputation, accurately reflecting the current market landscape and consumer behavior trends. As the Reputation Score serves as a vital business KPI for many clients, this enhancement is designed to improve its predictive power and relevance in a continuously evolving digital world.
Five Key Platform Enhancements Driving Accuracy
1. Enhanced Review Sentiment Stability To provide a more reliable Key Performance Indicator (KPI), Reputation has enhanced the calculation method for Review Sentiment. This adjustment stabilizes scoring and significantly decreases score volatility based on recent reviews left at a location. The result is a more consistent and robust Reputation Score, enabling clients to track long-term performance trends with greater confidence.
2. More Granular Social Score Engagement The Social Score methodology has been upgraded to provide a more accurate reflection of engagement efforts. The scoring now includes more granular incremental scoring with every interaction across monitored Facebook and Instagram URLs. This enhancement ensures that clients’ daily efforts to foster community and drive engagement are immediately and more accurately recognized in their overall Social Score.
3. Refined Listing Completeness for Hospitality Addressing the unique needs of the Hospitality industry, Reputation has removed the Description Field from the Listing Completeness calculation specifically for hotels. The score weight previously assigned to this field will be rebalanced into other essential listings fields, allowing hospitality clients to focus their optimization efforts on the most critical, high-impact data points.
4. Strategic 90-Day Grace Period for New Locations To ensure fairness and prevent misleading initial scores, any new locations added to the platform will now be given a 90-day grace period if they have not yet received any reviews across the URLs monitored by the Reputation platform. If any reviews are collected for the new location within the 90 day window, scoring will begin as normal, providing a more relevant starting point for performance measurement.5. Consolidating Brand Metrics for Streamlined Reporting The beta phase for the Brand Health & Brand Reach metrics is concluding within the Automotive segment. These capabilities are now being seamlessly integrated and redistributed within the core Social scoring segments. This transition creates a unified and streamlined social scoring model, simplifying reporting and providing clients with a clearer, consolidated view of their brand’s social performance.
Understanding the Transition and Timeline
The enhanced Reputation Score will be activated on January 1, 2026. Customers should be aware that their existing scores may change as a result of the new weighted factors and enhanced methodology.
- Effective Date: The new algorithm goes live on January 1, 2026.
- RepScore Recommendations: To ensure the system’s recommendations are based on fully recalibrated data, the RepScore Recommendations feature will be temporarily paused and will not be visible again until February 2026.
