We are excited to announce the roll out of our new Apple iPad Mini kiosk tablet program. Starting this month, we will be migrating from our existing Android-based tablets to the Apple iPad Mini. We sat down with Sathya Krishnamoorthy, Senior Director of Product Management at Reputation.com, to learn more about the program and what our customers can expect from this migration.
What can you tell us about the move to the new Apple iPad kiosk tablets?
The migration is starting this month and will consist of two components: the Apple iPad Mini itself and an iPort charger stand. We no longer will be shipping the Android tablets.
This decision was made to provide our customers with a more seamless tablet experience. The Apple iPad Minis are smaller and have a better battery life (up to 10 hours), so they are easier for customers to carry and maintain. Many users also report that they prefer typing on the iPad than on the older Android tablets. One caveat: the new tablets don’t support 3G, so a wifi connection will be required.
What about customers who have the older Android tablets?
Customers who have the older Android tablets can continue using them as is. To replace the older tablets with the iPad Mini, they need to contact their account manager for pricing and additional information.
Are there any changes in terms of the functionality of the kiosk tablet?
No. The Apple iPad Mini kiosk will function exactly like the Android version. The only difference is the operating system. The kiosk URL will stay the same, and businesses will be able to create surveys, generate reviews, and stream comments online just like they used to.
What else should our customers know about the new kiosk tablet?
The other major changes to the new kiosk tablet is price and the agreement itself. As per our licensing agreement with Apple, all devices will be owned by Reputation until the contract with customer expires. As soon as the contract expires, either customer cancels or does not renew, apple device will be released from Reputation.
